Chief Executive Officer Badriyah Abd Malek said only about 50 per cent of the applications had fulfilled the requirements mandated by SEDA Malaysia and were thus successful.
"Due to the high number of refusal, SEDA Malaysia will re-open the remaining solar PV quota to provide opportunity for those applications that were unsuccessful to re-apply," she said in a statement.
Last April, SEDA Malaysia released 20 MW of solar PV quota for the non-individuals under the 500 kilowatt category.
The solar PV quota was taken up within the first hour of release and 140 applications were submitted via the e-FiT online system.
Badriyah said to ensure the success of applications, the authority organised a dialogue to educate all Feed-in Approval applicants on how the verification was done, the documents required and other requirements which they must complied with.
She added that all applicants must go through the standard application process as the e-FiT online system would allocate quota based on a first-come-first-serve basis.
